If I ruled the world: I would bring peace and understanding to all religions and cultures to create a world in which our future generations would have no fear of each others cultures and live side by side in peace and harmony. A world with trust and respect of each others differences and acknowledge and embrace those differences in order to live in a world we can all feel safe and proud of.
I should win because: I am good role model within the Somali community and a prime example of someone who has struggled and used her tradition, culture and most importantly faith to stay strong and make herself a better person. I would use the title to Encourage young Somali people to make use of the opportunities, recourses and facilities that our within our reach. To promote and celebrate Somali women and the strengths each one of us has within us that can be transferred to be used in a society which is new to us and can be somewhat intimidating on a day to day basis. Therefore with the title I would give Somali woman the confidence and the voice to shine, to stand up and be counted.
Being Somali means: Being proud of who and what you are, being Somali means celebrating where we originate from and never forgetting our roots and tradition. Being Somali means standing up for what you truly believe in and never having fear that people disagree yet still having the grace to accept others opinions, being Somali is respecting yourself first before expecting others to respect you. Being Somali is to be strong in every sense of the word and passing this on to our children as our mothers did before us. So let's reunite as one, stand together side by side and celebrate what our fore fathers spent years fighting for and hold up a united front and most importantly celebrate being Somali.
